A pre-purchase inspection is a full OEM-level health check on a vehicle before you commit to buying it — covering the engine, transmission, electronics, structure, and every control module. It gives you the same level of insight a dealership technician would have, before you sign anything.
A test drive and a quick look under the bonnet won’t reveal hidden fault codes, previous crash repairs, worn suspension components, or electronic faults that haven’t triggered a warning light yet. Many serious issues are completely invisible without proper diagnostic equipment.

What does a pre-purchase inspection include?
A full OEM diagnostic scan of every control module, plus a hands-on check of the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, structure and bodywork. You’ll also get a VIN, odometer and finance check, finishing with a full written report and our recommendation.
Can you inspect a vehicle I'm about to buy from a private seller or dealer?
Yes. We inspect vehicles wherever they are — a private seller’s driveway, a dealership yard, or an auction site — anywhere across Auckland. As an independent inspector, we have no connection to the seller.
Do I need to be present for the inspection?
No — you’re welcome to attend, but it’s not required. We’ll carry out the full inspection and send you the written report and our recommendation, usually the same day.
How long does a pre-purchase inspection take?
A Standard Inspection typically takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. A Premium Inspection, including structural and paint depth checks, takes around 1.5–2 hours. We’ll always give you a time estimate when booking.
What happens if you find a fault?
We’ll detail every fault found in your written report, along with our assessment of severity and an estimated repair cost where relevant — giving you the information to negotiate the price or decide not to proceed.
Will the seller know what you found?
No. Your report is for you only. We’re an independent inspector — we don’t report to or work for the seller, and what you do with the information is entirely up to you.
Do you inspect EV and hybrid vehicles?
Yes — we are EV and hybrid specialists. Our inspections include a full battery management system (BMS) health check, high-voltage system inspection and charging system test. We specialise in European hybrid platforms including BMW, Mercedes and Audi plug-in hybrids.
Is Afterpay available for inspection services?
Yes — Afterpay is accepted for all services. We also accept bank transfer. WINZ quotes are available upon request.
